Milwaukee, Wis. – In an effort to fight hunger in Wisconsin, Tyson Foods and Roundy’s Supermarkets have teamed up to donate more than 29,000 pounds of food to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin this holiday season.

Tyson Foods will deliver a truckload of chicken products to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin on December 16 at 10 a.m. With the demand for food up 21% over the past two years, many families are forced to make the difficult decision between paying bills and buying food. “We applaud Tyson Foods for supporting hunger relief in local communities. Together with committed partners like Tyson Foods, we can provide food to children and families struggling with hunger,” said Bonnie Bellehumeur, president of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

“Since we’re in the food business it makes sense for our company to donate protein to feed people in need; however, we also believe in raising hunger awareness,” said Donnie Smith, president and CEO of Tyson Foods. “One of the keys to ending hunger in America is mobilizing more people to join the fight. That’s why we’re encouraging people to across the nation, including our own team members, to step forward and get involved.
