Milwaukee, Wis. - Join Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for its ninth annual Miles for Meals in Milwaukee on September 24. Take steps to help alleviate hunger for thousands of families in southeast Wisconsin.

Miles for Meals takes place in Veterans Park along the lakefront. The run/walk will start at the pavilion at the end of Lagoon Drive. The 5K run is certified and timed. The run and the non-competitive walk will follow paths around the lakefront. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

Due to a struggling economy, demand for food is up 21% over the last two years. Participants can help make a difference in Miles for Meals.  Each pledge dollar raised during Miles for Meals provides five meals to hungry people in our community.  Awards will be given after the 5K run based on a variety of categories varying by age, time and gender. The two mile non-competitive walk is not eligible for awards.
