Lakeside Foods Celebrates 125th Anniversary with Donation to Feeding America Food Banks in Wisconsin

Milwaukee, Wis. – In honor of their 125th anniversary, Lakeside Foods, based in Manitowoc, Wis., made a significant donation to help feed the hungry. The private label food processor donated 125 pallets, the equivalent of seven truckloads, of canned vegetables to three Feeding America member food banks in Wisconsin: Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Milwaukee; Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin, Madison; and Channel One Food Bank in LaCrosse. 

The generous donation consists of seven truckloads of French green beans, potatoes, corns, carrots, beets, wax beans, peas, mixed vegetables and Italian green beans. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin received four truckloads of product. Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin received one truckload and Channel One Food Bank received two truckloads of food. All three food banks are members of Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization.

Giving back to the community is a key part of Lakeside’s business philosophy. Lakeside Foods donates to charities and public service organizations in every location where their plants are located. Dave Aggen, Sr. Vice President of Quality Assurance and Product Safety for Lakeside Foods has served on Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s Board of Directors since July 2011.
