Milwaukee, Wis. – David Seebach has made things and people disappear for years, but school kids will be doing their own magic this fall making peanut butter and jelly appear for hungry kids. Join us as Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin kicks off the seventh annual PB&J Challenge at St. Charles Borromeo School on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. David Seebach will entertain the school children with a PB&J themed magic show and encourage them to participate in the PB&J Challenge.

Stickee, the PB&J Challenge mascot, and Bango, the Milwaukee Bucks mascot will also participate.

The PB&J Challenge is a food drive that encourages elementary and middle school children to collect peanut butter and jelly to help feed hungry children.  A peanut butter and jelly sandwich is a simple meal packed with protein.  In eastern Wisconsin, 87,000 children rely on Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin for food.

Schools collecting the most peanut butter and jelly during the month of October are eligible for prizes and will be honored at halftime of the Milwaukee Bucks game on November 14, 2009.   The public can donate peanut butter and jelly at participating Pick ‘n Save stores in the barrels featuring Bango, the Milwaukee Bucks mascot, throughout the month of October or they can make a donation online at www.feedingamericawi.org.
