Help Sophie Fill Her “Full Belly Fund”

Milwaukee, Wis. – Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Neroli Salon & Spa and the Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness are teaming up to help eleven-year-old Sophie Gilbert of Fox Point feed the hungry. Sophie created the Full Belly Fund last year after learning about hunger in Wisconsin.

Neroli Salon & Spa and The Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness are hosting a Full Belly Fund food drive from October 17 to November 18, 2011. Bring in a nonperishable food item: canned soup, peanut butter, canned meats, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, pasta or cereal, to one of the salons’ locations and receive ten percent off your Aveda product purchase. At Neroli Salon & Spa locations you will also receive a $10 spa service gift card valid for your next spa visit of $50 or more. The Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness will offer a $5 service gift card for your next service of over $15.

With the demand for food up 21% over the past two years, many families are forced to make the difficult decision between paying bills and buying food. 330,000 people rely on Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin each year, 105,000 of whom are children. Help Sophie fill her Full Belly Fund with a nonperishable food donation. All food donations benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Together, we are feeding Wisconsin’s hungry.

330,000 people in eastern Wisconsin rely on food supplied by Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin each year.  The food bank is the largest, private, nonprofit distributor of food in the state.
