Celebrity Shopping Cart Race Kicks Off 12th Annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive

WHERE:       Pick ‘n Save, 11111 W. Greenfield Avenue (Just west of Highway 100 & Greenfield)

West Allis, Wis. 99.1 WMYX, Pick ‘n Save and the Milwaukee County Transit System are joining forces to help feed the hungry in the Annual Stuff the Bus Shopping Cart Race.  The shopping cart race takes place Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Pick ‘n Save store located at

11111 W. Greenfield Avenue, West Allis.  The race begins at 11 a.m. and features Mike Jacobs of Today’s TMJ4, Tami Hughes of FOX6 News, Portia Young of WISN12, Chris McGinness of CBS 58 and the famous Klement’s Racing Sausages.  Kidd O’Shea, Elizabeth Kay and Tony Lorino of 99.1 WMYX will team up to collect food for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, formerly named America’s Second Harvest of Wisconsin.  Each team has 99 seconds to race through the aisles and collect as much food as possible.  Whichever team has the highest receipt total wins the race. 

The Shopping Cart Race is the kickoff to the 12th Annual Stuff the Bus food drive which takes place Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Pick ‘n Save store located at 11111 W. Greenfield Avenue.  The one day marathon food drive begins at 5 a.m. and wraps up at 6 p.m.  This year we hope to collect 200,000 pounds of food.  Please bring your nonperishable food items to help feed the hungry in Wisconsin this holiday season.  The most needed food items include canned fruits and vegetables, canned soups, rice, beans, tuna, cereal, peanut butter and jelly.  We are also accepting frozen turkeys.  Monetary donations will also be accepted.  For every $1 donated, we can provide five meals.  You can also make an online contribution to Stuff the Bus at www.feedingamericawi.org.  Just click on the Stuff the Bus icon.
