Donate While Doing Your Taxes
Taxes can be complicated, but making a donation to help feed the hungry while doing your taxes is easy. Wisconsin residents can donate $1 or more to Feeding America food banks in the state by entering the amount on line 27i of the state income tax form.
For more information see page 28 in the Wisconsin state tax instruction booklet or click here.
Each year one out of six Americans goes hungry; more than 573,000 of whom reside in the state of Wisconsin. Families living in poverty often have to choose between heating their homes or providing a substantial meal for their children. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has the power to take one dollar and create five meals for those in need. This donation will provide an added source of funding to ensure that the shelves of the food bank will remain stocked with healthy choices for those who cannot afford one of life's basic necessities, food.
For more information about filing taxes and making a tax deductible donation please visit http://www.revenue.wi.gov/ or your local city hall. Funds will be distributed among the three Feeding America food banks that provide assistance to families in need in Wisconsin; Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Second Harvest of Southern Wisconsin and Second Harvest Heartland.
